The technical features of an ophthalmic syringe for intravitreal injection will be explained: basic requirements, functional and pharmaceutical requirements. As an example of supplier cooperation, a comprehensive joint study of the effects of terminal sterilization on the prefilled and blistered syringe will be presented. Gerresheimer had carried out this study with Sterigenics and Früh Verpackungstechnik.
