Parenteral packaging containers like vials are more often exposed to increased requirements of sensitive drug formulations. In particular some of the latest generation of biological drugs are requiring cold storage or need to be lyophilized for increased shelf life stability.
As a platform development Gerresheimer started a comprehensive program to develop and confirm new product features of the Gx Elite Vials to show case compatibility to these challenging process and storage conditions. Baked-on siliconization using proprietary process know-how combined with a state-of the art manufacturing process led to very promising test results from vial studies as the basis for our commercial platform development and roll-out.
