Abstract
Pharma plastics are chosen by life-cycle choices long before they reach end of life.
Sometimes sterilization has a strong influence on the material of choice, and later, whether a product ends up in incineration, takeback systems and recycling, or landfill often depends on region and application. Smart polymer selection therefore balances these aspects with technical, safety and sustainability requirements.
The presentation will explore, how today often overlooked life-cycle realities influence material choice, and how they interact with commercial risks as well as performance and patient-safety demands.
