- Biography
- FREDERIC MATHOT is a Scientific and Technical Lead (Associate Director) for drug product development at GSK’s Vaccine Research & Development Center in Rixensart, Belgium. He is a pharmacist by training with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences gained from UCLouvain (Brussels, BE) specialized in nanostructures. In his role, he collaborates closely with key internal and external stakeholders, providing leadership and strategies on drug product and associated processes for new vaccines candidates. During the last decade, he has been focusing on leading drug product development of vectors for various nucleic acids-based platforms such as adenoviral vectors, MVA and mRNA/LNP modalities, collaborating with BARDA, WuXi, CureVac amongst others. Besides those project-facing missions, he leads the onboarding of novel technologies related to drug product development encompassing AI/ML based platforms, alternative devices or innovative drying technologies and, he is involved in academia, supervising PhD studentships and lecturing at UCLouvain.
