Biography
Laurent Jeanmart is a Device Industrialization Lead at UCB, based in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium, with over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He has developed strong expertise in drug delivery devices and primary packaging, with a proven track record of translating complex innovations into robust, scalable, and compliant industrial solutions. Throughout his career, Laurent has operated at the intersection of engineering, product development, and manufacturing operations. He has led cross-functional initiatives to drive performance, operational excellence, quality, and reliability across the manufacturing lifecycle. In addition, he has developed strong and efficient collaborations with device suppliers and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), strengthening global industrial networks and enabling successful project execution. His expertise spans device design, industrialization strategies, and packaging systems, ensuring efficient and seamless transitions from development to commercial production. Laurent is deeply committed to sustainability and actively promotes the integration of environmentally responsible practices into device and packaging development. He is focused on reducing environmental impact while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and product integrity. By effectively bridging device development and industrial manufacturing operations, Laurent plays a key role in bringing innovative healthcare solutions to market, aligning technological advancement with sustainability ambitions. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL, Belgium), specializing in Polymer Science, as well as a Ph.D. in Materials Science. Laurent is an active contributor to the scientific community through publications, patents, and participation in leading pharmaceutical associations.
